When Roy opened his eyes, he immeatly wanted to close them; the sun was too bright. He wanted the blindes to hide more of the deathly rays, and fall back into the peaceful sleep he was in just moments ago. He was almost tempted to turn away from the window; but then he noticed the small form laying on his chest, hands gripping the clothing of his shirt tightly. Blinking down at the form, he recognized it as Dick, the sweet boy he was babysitting.
Looking around the room he spotted the other boy he was supposed to be watching, Wally, who still seemed to be sleeping. He was turned on his side, facing the couch with his feet almost touching Roy's lap. The tv was still playing Lady and the Tramp in the background, but since everyone had falled asleep, no one cared.
Roy shifted to a more comfortable position, adjusting his grip on the blue-eyed boy. The sudden change in position caused Dick to shift in Roy's arms, turning around and burring his head in his chest, mumbling something about flying monkeys. A smile graced his lips.
Man, he was smiling a lot.
On the other side of the couch, Wally stirred before opening his eyes. "Im hungry!" he stated rather loudly, sitting up and looking around the room before his eyes fell on the two. "Oh, Hey Dick! You want something to-:
"Shh," Roy hissed loudly, glaring at the redhead. "He's still sleeping."
"Dicky? Asleep? Later than me?" Wally questioned, cocking his head to the side. "Weird... Im hungry." He jumped from the couch and ran into the kitchen, the big doors closing behind him. Roy sighed, adjusting the boy in his arms once again before following him into the larger-than-normal kitchen. Wally was looking through the pantry, pulling out the loaf of bread before hurrying to the fridge, where he pulled out various types of cheese and meats. "Want a sandwich?" He asked, already pulling out two slices of bread and laying out cheese and meat on them.
Roy shook his head, taking a seat in one of the chairs. "Make one for Dick, though. He may be hungry when he wakes up."
"Dick doesn't eat sandwiches unless Alfred made them," Wally pointed out, taking a bite out of the already made sandwich. "Bruce told Uncle Barry that the first time he visited me. Something about the way his parents used to make it. Only Alfred and Bruce know how to make it the same way. I think he said something about the way-" he swallowed, "it was prepared or something." He took another bite. "He wo'nth tell mehh."
The phone rang from its spot in the middle of the island, causing both boys to jump and Dick to grumble something about wanting the flying monkeys to take him to space. Roy silently cursed before reaching across the sleeping boy for the phone. "Hello?"
"Roy! You're alive!" Someone spoke on the other line; Ollie. "Hey guys, he's alive!"
"Hey, Ollie," Roy sighed into the phone. "Good to hear from you too."
Ollie laughed half-heartedly. "Sorry, Roy. We were all placing bets to see how long you would survive. Barry said you wouldn't last an hour with the fastest boy alive." He laughed again, and Roy could almost see him wiping a fake tear from his eyes. "So how are you doing?"
"Ehh, we got off to a rocky start," Roy was honest, "But it was nothing I couldn't handle. We all just got up from a nap-" he ignored the laugh he got "-and Wally's eating a sandwich. Dick's still sleeping. He thinks he sprained his foot. And we watched a movie yesterday, and we went to the park today. So now Dick is still sleeping, and he keeps mumbling something about flying monkeys and space… Wally's on his second sandwich." Wally was already throwing together another sandwich while chewing on the second one.
More laughs came from the other line. "You're on speaker phone!" Ollie exclaimed, laughing some more, followed by other laughs in the back ground. "Barry wants to talk with Wally."
Roy handed the phone to Wally, who took it with one hand while still chewing with the other. "Hewwoo, Uncle Bawwy!"
"Hey, Kid," Barry greeted from the other line. "Are you havin' fun?"
"Yeshh!" Wally cheered, swallowing the bite he took. "We played Capture the Aliens, and I got stuck behind the fridge but Dick got me out; Dick went crazy with his bostaff and attacked Roy; We went to the part just a few hours ago, and Dick and I raced up a tree and Roy pushed Dick on the swings and I made an obstacle course for myself and now we just took a nap and Roy is holding Dick in his arms because he's still asleep and its so cute! And now he's glaring at me- Oh! And I think Dick is having those dreams about the flying monkeys and space and stuff again!" He pauses for breath and takes another bite. "I wonsder when Dishc's gontha wake up."
More laughs came from the other end of the line. "That sounds great, Kid. Glad to know you're having fun."
Roy looked down at the boy in his arms and found two blue eyes staring up at him. "I wanna talk to Bruce," he stated, not moving from his spot.
"Oh! And Dick just woke up and he wants to talk to Bruce!" Wally cheered, handing the phone to Dick.
"Hi, Bruce," Dick spoke sleepily into the phone.
"Hello, Dick," Brice replied, speaking into the other line with his deep voice. "How's your foot?"
He moved his foot around for a few moments. "Doesn't hurt as much as before. I mean, it just kinda hurt before, but now it doent really hurt all that much. And Roy carried me home from the park, so that helped more than if I just walked." He paused for a moment. "Hows the meeting?"
"It went okay," Bruce replied. "There were no arguments like we thought there would be. Clark was late, go figure. Ollie got drunk on the first night, like always. And now the meetings over, we're just staying an extra night as a vacation. Do you want me to head back?"
"No, no!" Dick suddenly exclaimed. "Roy is the best sitter. He let us do whatever we want to do and eat whatever we want. Wally had three sprites yesterday and I had a ton of chocolate bars! You can stay an extra week!"
Bruce chuckled, "Im sure Roy would be quite annoyed with you two by the time today is over. We're coming back tomorrow, early in the morning. You guys will still be asleep. Are you having fun?"
"Yeees," Dick grinned. "We went to the park, and we played games, and I got to swing super duper high and everything!"
"Sounds like a lot of fun. Can you put Roy back on?"
"Here, Roy!" He placed the phone next to his ears. "Wally, give me the break and cheese and meat. Im hungry."
Roy smiled down at the two boys. "Hello."
"Now how are they really doing?"
"Ehh, the beginning was rough," Roy admitted. "Dick wouldn't talk to me, and he had a nightmare during his nap, but Wally was there for him. And then they managed to get their hands on a ton of sugar, and that didn't blow over too well. But then they got tired, and they went to sleep in Dicks room. And in the morning, they made breakfast because they don't trust me cooking anymore. Then we went to the park and I pushed Dick on the swings for a bit," he watched as the two boys fought over the cheese, "then he and Wally wanted to race up a tree and Dick jumped down when he was still far up and sprained his foot, so I carried him home. Then he fell asleep, and we all woke up a few minutes ago…."
"Sounds… interesting," Bruce commented. "So you'll be fine for the next few hours until bed? There are emergency numbers on the fridge, incase you need someone else."
Roy made a chuckling sound. "Nahh, we're fine."

Creak.
It's barely there; anyone else wouldn't have even heard it, but I do, and it makes one of my eyes pop open. Of course, it's not like I was asleep in the first place. It's been raining like crazy outside for the past five hours. Thunder, lightning, the works. I'd actually like to get some sleep when I don't have to "work" ya know. I glance at my bedroom doorway out into the hall and see a shadow just at the edge. Too small and hesitant to be Alfred. That leaves only one person and I'm really not that surprised.
"Damian?" I call out softly. The shadow flinches, hesitates, then draws closer u

I am Vengeance
| Watch Tower
It had been a slow, uneventful night at the Watch Tower. Everyone was doing something uneventful, board out of their minds. They didn't know what to do. The world was safe for now, and everyone was at the Watch Tower currently, a sort of bonding exercise or something. Well actually everyone was there but Batman of course. He had some sort of excuse. Most of the League was hanging out in the cafeteria; they were either eating or quietly talking to one another. The conversations were mostly small talk. It wasn't anything too big. Stuff about things the Leaguers did with their families or some villa

As Long As
Skipping school is bad. Well, adults think its bad. And you shouldn't do it. Not unless you have a good reason. A very good reason.
Which I do have.
About two minutes ago, Alfred sent me a text message (I know, Alfred texts?) about Dick. Alarms and red alerts had sprung up in my mind automatically before he had even told me what was wrong. It's a reflex I've developed over the past few years. He'd said that Dick was staying home from school today because he was sick. Sick. Dick never gets sick.
So I decided to skip school and pay him a visit. Hey, don't look at me like that. Visiting and taking care of the love of your life is a helluva g
